About Us - Young Entrepreneurs Society (YES)

Shaping the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs Since 2012

Established in 2012, the Young Entrepreneurs Society (YES) is an independent, non-profit association dedicated to empowering young and first-generation entrepreneurs , with a special focus on the handicrafts export sector.

Today, YES proudly brings together nearly 250 exporters, making it one of Moradabad's most dynamic and respected business associations. United by a shared vision, our members believe that learning, collaboration, ethical leadership and continuous innovation are the foundations of sustainable business success.

Our Purpose

YES was founded on a simple yet enduring belief—that every entrepreneur deserves an opportunity, a platform and the right guidance to succeed.

From the Desk of the Chief Patron

Dr. Neeraj Khanna

Dear Members and Friends,

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to the official website of the Young Entrepreneurs Society (YES).

The true strength of any industry is not measured merely by its turnover or exports, but by its ability to nurture the next generation of entrepreneurs. Every established enterprise was once a dream in the mind of a young entrepreneur who possessed the courage to take risks, the determination to overcome challenges and the vision to create something meaningful. It is this spirit that YES seeks to encourage and strengthen.

Since its establishment in 2012, YES has emerged as one of the most dynamic platforms for young entrepreneurs in the handicrafts export sector. What began as an initiative to bring together young exporters has today evolved into a vibrant institution that promotes learning, leadership, collaboration and responsible entrepreneurship.

The handicrafts industry of Moradabad has earned worldwide recognition through the extraordinary skill of its artisans and the enterprise of its exporters. However, the business environment is changing faster than ever before. Technology, Artificial Intelligence, digital commerce, sustainability, global compliance and evolving customer expectations are transforming international trade. These changes demand not only new knowledge and technical competence but also adaptability, ethical leadership and continuous innovation.

As Peter Drucker wisely observed, "The greatest danger in times of turbulence is not the turbulence—it is to act with yesterday's logic."

This is particularly relevant for today's young entrepreneurs. Success in the future will belong to those who are willing to learn continuously, embrace change confidently and remain committed to excellence.

Throughout my professional journey, I have come to realise that while products and markets evolve, certain values never lose their relevance-integrity, commitment, humility, discipline and respect for relationships. In international business, trust remains the most valuable asset an entrepreneur can possess. It takes years to build, but only moments to lose.

YES has always believed that knowledge grows when it is shared. I am encouraged to see the Society organising meaningful interactions with experienced exporters, industry experts, policymakers, academic institutions and government agencies. Such initiatives not only broaden perspectives but also prepare young entrepreneurs to face the complexities of a highly competitive global marketplace.

Equally important is our responsibility towards the ecosystem that supports us. The prosperity of our industry depends upon the welfare of our artisans, the development of skilled manpower, sustainable manufacturing practices and the preservation of India's rich craft heritage. Economic growth must therefore go hand in hand with social responsibility.

The words of Mahatma Gandhi continue to inspire us: "The future depends on what we do in the present."

Let us therefore invest our present in learning, innovation, collaboration and ethical leadership, so that future generations inherit an industry that is stronger, more resilient and globally respected.

I congratulate the Chairman, Governing Body and every member of YES for their dedication and commitment towards strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem. I encourage every member to actively participate in the Society's programmes, share experiences generously, mentor emerging entrepreneurs and work collectively for the advancement of our industry.

Together, let us ensure that Moradabad continues to be recognised across the world not only for its craftsmanship, but also for the quality of its entrepreneurs and the strength of its institutions.

My best wishes are always with the YES family, and I look forward to seeing the Society scale even greater heights in the years to come.

With warm regards,
Dr. Neeraj Khanna

From the Chairman's Desk

JP Singh

It is both a privilege and a profound responsibility to welcome you to the Young Entrepreneurs Society (YES).

At the outset, I express my heartfelt gratitude to all our members for reposing their trust and confidence in me by unanimously electing me to serve as Chairman for a second consecutive term. I accept this honour with humility, recognising it not as a personal achievement but as a reaffirmation of our shared vision to strengthen the entrepreneurial spirit of our fraternity. Your continued faith inspires me to serve with renewed commitment, dedication and a deep sense of responsibility.

YES was founded on a simple yet enduring belief—that the future of our industry lies in the strength of its young entrepreneurs. Since its inception in 2012, the Society has grown into one of the handicrafts export fraternity's most vibrant and respected platforms, bringing together nearly two hundred entrepreneurs and professionals committed to learning, innovation, collaboration and collective growth.

Originating from Moradabad – the Brass City of India, YES has witnessed the remarkable transformation of the handicrafts industry. We have seen the journey from traditional sand casting, hand engraving, chasing, embossing and repoussé work, when designs were developed through hand sketches and communication with overseas buyers took weeks through letters and fax, to today's world of digital product development, AI-driven design, e-commerce, sustainability, real-time communication and integrated global supply chains. While technology has transformed the way we work, the foundation of our success remains unchanged—the creativity of our artisans, the enterprise of our entrepreneurs and the trust of customers across the world.

As Charles Darwin observed: "It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change."

Few industries reflect this thought more than handicrafts today. Artificial Intelligence, digital commerce, sustainability, evolving consumer preferences and geopolitical developments are reshaping global trade. These changes undoubtedly present challenges, but they also create extraordinary opportunities for those who are willing to learn, innovate and adapt.

At YES, we believe entrepreneurship is not merely about building successful enterprises-it is about developing capable leaders. Our endeavor is to strengthen young and first-generation entrepreneurs by creating an ecosystem where knowledge is shared freely, experience is valued, innovation is encouraged and leadership is nurtured. Through mentorship, industry interactions, leadership development programmes, policy advocacy, government engagement, networking and capacity-building initiatives, we strive to equip our members with the knowledge, confidence and connections required to compete successfully in global markets.

We also recognise that the true strength of our industry lies beyond factories and export statistics. It lies in the extraordinary skill of our artisans, the dedication of our workforce and the values with which we conduct business. Sustainable growth must therefore be founded on integrity, innovation, collaboration and social responsibility. As entrepreneurs, we share the responsibility of preserving India's rich handicraft heritage while embracing the technologies and ideas that will define the future.

YES is more than an association-it is a platform for learning, leadership and lasting relationships. It is a place where experienced exporters mentor the next generation, where ideas are exchanged freely and where collective wisdom becomes our greatest strength. I firmly believe that when entrepreneurs grow together, industries grow stronger, and nations prosper.

As Chairman, I invite every member to participate actively in the Society's initiatives, contribute ideas, share experiences and mentor aspiring entrepreneurs. Together, let us build an organisation that not only represents exporters but also develops future leaders, promotes innovation, influences policy and contributes meaningfully to the growth of India's handicrafts sector.

I sincerely thank our members, mentors, government agencies, institutions, industry associations and well-wishers for their continued trust and support. I look forward to working alongside each one of you as we strengthen our fraternity, preserve our rich heritage and build a more innovative, sustainable and globally competitive future for Indian handicrafts.

“Together, let us inspire, innovate and build the next generation of Indian entrepreneurs.

With warm regards,
JP Singh
